I usually have a baggie of circles for yo-yo's. Hand embroidery also. Sometimes I have a table runner for hand quilting.

Wow! Lots of ideas quickly. I think I'll start with the yo-yo idea since I already have several of the Clover tools for them..I can use these for art quilts as well as a yo-yo table runner...or bigger. I'll try some of the others as well as I move on.
    Thanks.

I take smaller (no bigger than twin) quilts that need the binding finished. Or applique, embroidery, quilt pictures and graph paper, Prisma color pencils and whatever portrait I'm working on. Or sometimes I just take quilting magazines and get caught up on them.

I'm learning how to piece and quilt by hand. I'm currently working on a Quilt As You Go project so basically almost the whole quilt can be done as a portable project. I love it!

I have some EPP bits in a tin, but it doesn't fit into my handbag, once saw a hint to carry thread on an OLD machine bobbin, not so much damage if you lose it

have done black outline blanket stitch projects in my bag

    also knit socks

like that I can have a bunch of threaded needles and am ready to go

also that my husband does red-work, so we can sit and chat together while we wait

they also have free design sheets you can print off and color with colored pencils, and use to design your project ;)
I'm working on a double wedding ring table runner from them. Thought I'd see if it was doable before I start a large quilt with that method. I've got everything in a cosmetic bag that is easy to pickup and take with me.
