I'll be in Portland for a conference April 10 - 13. what is happening in the area that is worth coming early or staying late for? I've seen information on the Vancouver, WA quilt show, anyone been to that one? any shops in the area that are "don't miss"? My friend and I are up for driving as well, so anything within a day or two of Portland will be good.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I went to the Fabric Depot store in Portland .. It is AMAZING what they have there... couldn't buy anything because I was caring for my mom at the time, but it was a stress reliever for me to just oogle over all the fabrics, and notions, and such.. Enjoy your trip to the PNW.. I live in the mountains of eastern Oregon, so don't get to Portland often, especially in the winter.

The NW Quilters quilt show is running from March 10-13 at the Expo Center - I'm sorry you are going to miss it! There are lots and lots of quilt shops in Portland and Vancouver so there is plenty to look at. There are quite a few shops on the Oregon Coast if you are interested in taking a long drive.
Have fun!

The Vancouver show is the 7th - 9th of April.
Seaside, Oregon is only a little over an hour away from Portland.. there are LQS and a lot of other sites to see there.
Multnomah Falls is only a 30 minute drive east of Portland. The whole area is scenic and the falls are gorgeous.
A drive up to Mt Hood is lovely too...

I"m watching all these great ideas and putting them down for a planning session with my friend. I'd forgotten about Multnomah falls, and isn't there a quilt shop in an old house between the Falls and Portland? Have driven that way once only but seemed to find a shop in that area. Like the idea of driving to the coast or Mt. Hood. Keep the ideas coming - thanks
