I recently did a baby quilt with prairie points. I cut 6 1/2" squares and then made half square triangles. I made the prairie points, I believe if I recall, using 4" squares. I added them beforehand and it allowed me to figure out the spacing and color placement. Then I thread basted, SID, and then turned under the backing, handstitched, and then finished the SID on the blocks nearest the edge. I was happy with the results.
