They make a Teflon applique pressing sheet, the fusible should not stick to it preventing it from touching the iron. Never used it, but you might want to, getting fusible off the iron is a chore and a half and after that experience you will never buy pre-cuts again. Been there with the fusible on the bottom of th iron.

usually sandwich it between two piecesof baking parchment , that way it saves your board and you iron.

I've just traced the shape and cut inside the trace some. This way it didn't get on my iron. It was a little work but worth it.

Yep - this is what I do with my applique precuts (from Keepsake Quilting). Works like a charm!

To get the fusible backing off, take a straight pin and drag it sharply across the center of the fusible backing paper, making sure your pinpoint "cuts" the paper at a very sharp angle. Bend the paper along the slit you just made and pull gently off working with the grain of the fabric so as to not distort the applique.

The pre-cut pieces are a real time saver. You can put just enough fusible on the back to hold it in place while you stitch. Any fusible has to be stitched down because it eventually will come unstuck.

I use just regular stick glue like the kids in school. It will hold till you get it stitched down.

I have been buying dies of many different shapes and plan on putting fusible on the fabric and selling them at craft fairs. I have been building my collection...I just bought some more...birdhouses, primative stars, trees, birds, flowers. Its getting there...I am thinking of selling them for 2 for 1.00 at the fairs. I still need to figure out packaging.
