Default Pre wound bobbins for JUKI 2010q???

I am a brand new quilter…. I have a Janome Platinum 760 that I use for classes.. and I just bought a brand new JUKI 2010q. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it….. but I'm not sure what type of pre wounds to use for piecing and quilting. I haven't seen to many references regarding this. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this machine? Also, type of thread for sewing would you suggest that has worked well..

Thanks so much! I appreciate all the feedback I can get!!

I asked the same not long ago and was told size "L" bobbins would work. I haven't tried them yet myself though.

I've had my Juki about a year now and she works wonderfully with any thread I've tried. Mostly I use Aurifil or Wonderfil. But I've used other brands as well such as King Tut, Coats & Clark, Gutterman Glide. I've done some sample quilt sandwiches with Glide and loved the sheen of it. I have plans to use it on my next big quilt, but I'm still piecing that.

You will LOVE your machine! Oil and clean the lint out frequently and she will run beautifully for you!

I use Bobby Cot 100% cotton size L for pre-wound bobbins. I use a mix of Aurifil, Connecting Threads or Coats and Clark 100% cotton up top.

You don't have to use cotton, you can use any thread you like. I like cotton for quilting.

Kelligirl. Looking forward to your thoughts on your Juki. I am seriously thinking about buying one. Not happy with my Janome 6500.

I love my Juki 2010Q! I don't use prewound bobbins, though, so I can't answer your question--sorry. Do enjoy that wonderful machine.

Prewound bobbins work very well on this machine.

I also love my Juki 2010q!!! I don't use prewound bobbins either--winding bobbins on the Juki is super easy. I use two cones of thread--one for the needle and one for the Bobbin filling, this way I don't have to retread the machine after filling a batch of bobbins. I use Gutermann cotton 50wt thread for all my quilting.

You will love your Juki! I love mine. But I don't buy prewound bobbins. I do however wind about 12 at the same time and keep them in a little bobbin box. Since I usually use white or off white, it isn't a problem.
