I keep seeing talk about pressing & ironing, but do not understand the difference. Could someone please explain the difference to me?
I hate sounding this ignorant, but want to know, & you people are always so kind, I thought you would give me a simple answer without making me feel stupid. Thanks, Marilyn

And when you press open you seam, keep the iron straight, when you do that quick slide across. If you go at an angle, you can distort the seam :D:D:D

I swear that every missouri quilt co video I've ever watched shows someone doing the twist when they press. And I think I even saw Eleanor Burns do it on her show. I try to not do it but sometimes it just happens.

Press - put iron down, press, and pick it up.

Iron - slide iron back and forth.
