I don't use pre-wound bobbins because I can't find them to fit them to my sewing machine, a Viking Emerald 203. If you do, please let me know!!!

I use the paper sided bobbins, too. Love the convenience. The last tube of them (10/tube, I think) was from YLI.

I save my bobbins from the prewound ones and wind thread on them that I do my hand embroidery with. It doesn't matter if they are wound a certain way and I can carry several with me in less space to carry all of the spools of thread.

Are these available for any machine? I have a Viking and also a Janome.

my one machine is a Kenmore made by Janome; that one I use them on. I have a Viking #1 but I haven't tried them on it. In one of my sewing classes this one lady uses them on her Viking. It won't hurt to try and see if it sews right. I wasn't sure since my bobbins are made differently for the #1 if they'd fit. I use my kenmore the most and the bobbins look the same.

I have a Janome 9500 and cannot find in my book anything about the bobbin size. Does anyone know which one I should use?

from what I seen on the web you use either a 15 or a L; it doesn't matter. another person orders hers for the same machine from arc. hope this helps
