    Default prewound bobbins

Hello.. I am just wondering if anyone here purchases prewound bobbins for their sewing machines. I never gave prewound bobbins a thought until my local quilt shop had them. Once I bought them I love them. They are wound with much more thread than I am able to wound on them myself.

My problem is that now my LQS has not be able to get them. I miss them. I have a Janome 6600 and I am wondering if anyone here knows where I can purchase some for my machine

    Any thoughts?

I use pre wounds on my Juki 98, my Janome 4900 and 3160, and the larger ones on my Tin Lizzie long arm. Superior Thread company sells many varieties, cotton or poly, lots of colors.

You can also look on the internet. I just typed on "prewound bobbins" and a large number of hits came back. You just need to know what size bobbin your require.

Superior Threads, Connecting Threads and Nancy's Notions all carry prewound bobbins.

I buy Superior prewounds with paper sides. I take off the paper sides and just have naked thread. I use Glide pre wound when machine quilting.

I haven't used them myself, but had a friend who could not control the tension on her machine when using prewound bobbins. She stopped using them.

My Juki uses L bobbins and I got packs of prewound L Perspex bobbins in Joanne's in Kissimee last year, going back to Florida in a couple of weeks and intend to get more as they are wonderful and I can reuse the empty bobbins.

Try calling the companies on the phone. I'm sure they'll help you get the right ones! I know Nancy's Notions is always very helpful!

I have a hunch of these but don't know if I can use them. Seems like they're on cardboard bobbins?? Is this used in embroidery machine or sewing machines? I will look up the colors I have and try to post them soon...probably give them away for postage fees.
