If this group is basically responsible for getting fabric back in the Wal Mart stores, perhaps we should shop there when we can.

Only pay that price when that is the only fabric I found to match the quilt that I may be working on at the time.

I find my self looking at the price then picking my fabric. I have a good stash and have been using it up. Watching for sales.

I won't say I won't pay that price. I probably will sometime in the future if I want to make quilts. My stash will run out and have to be replenished. I keep my eyes open for online clearance and going out of business sales.

I gotta tell you guys that I just keep watching for online sales-Thousand of bolts, connecting threads, Marshall's etc. I've been paying about $3.50 -sometimes less- & don't plan on ever paying over $5.00. Also do the garage sale & thrift store thing & ask family members for things they are done with I might be able to use.

Well, I don't want to pay that much, but I might not have a choice.

Time to whittle that stash down, however.

Today, I pulled out the fall fabric I had purchased and started working on a runner for my buffet. I decided I needed a bit more from the line and was pleased to find it on sale a Ft Worth Fabric Studio for $5 a yard. WOO HOO. Got enough to make my sister a runner for her birthday!

There are fabrics here up to 14.99. I don't and won't pay that. I talked to a dealer at a quilt show and she is selling out all of her fabrics because the prices are going through the roof and she figures people won't pay the prices and she doesn't think people should pay those prices.

I shop at Bits and Pieces for Moda clearance for 4.99 a yard. I love the prices and the fabric. I pick up at the shop for free shipping but also have had them deliver. http://www.bnpquilts.com/

No I will not pay that much for fabric. For one thing I don't have the funds to do it as most of our money goes for treatments for dh and for another thank God I have accumulated a large stash. I also live about 1/2 hr drive from 2 different mennonite stores that have wonderful fabric and prices. I would say that I am truly blessed.patti
