I found another site and posted this link in the "#2 secret to good bindings" thread. The illustration for ending the binding with a diagonal seam looks very straightforward - no twisting! I'm trying it the next time I do a binding.

Oh my goodness.... I watched these videos about 4 times.... then I used Sharon's method on two lap quilts...first one took me over 3 hours -- resulting in a nice flat binding. Well worth the extra efforts...second took less time and results were the same. Thank for posting this infromation Dolly.

I've found the secret to good bindings is Elmer's School Glue. I learned the technique from Sharon Schamber's youtube videos. It makes doing bindings a breeze. I use the technique to match patterns. I love striped bindings and this enables you to match the stripes on the bias perfectly. Here are the links to the 3 videos.

You lost me here....can you explain so a dummy can understand it??? LOL!

. ..... take it out of the machine. Then start the next seam with needle just catches the edge of the fold. this will hole the layers until you can aralign the binding with the edge.
Also, when you fold the binding to make the mitre, then be sure the fold and all layers are 90 degrees.

Guess this is more than #1 but it works.[/QUOTE]
