17 yards of batik
I purchased a total of +- 17 yards of batik mostly fat quarters and some fat eights from eBay. The colors are blues, greens, pinks, oranges and multicolored pieces with yellow on them. They started arriving yesterday and now I am am looking for ideas for a quilt. I would like to showcase the fabric, so I do not want to cut the fabric too much and I am looking for suggestions. This will be for my bedroom. Thanks a lot!

You could do something like this
http://www.craftconn.com/Main.asp?Ta...roductID=24991 or this http://blueundergroundstudios.com/sh...n-pattern.html or this http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item--i-ATK-138 or have a look here there are lots that would work, I love the BQ pattern http://www.mapleislandquilts.com/quiltpatterns.asp have fun, you could also just google images of batik quilts and see what takes your fancy. I also love the jewel box pattern done in batiks :) |
Thank you so much. The first one is stunning! Exactly what I had in mind! Thanks again.

Square in a square or bento box would be pretty in batiks. I've also seen batiks used for Shadow box and it's beautiful.

Turning twenty has several patterns.

Do you have a solid dark fabric for the sashings? |
I made a double wedding ring w/batits...beige melons and centers...just gorgeous. Used extra fab for pillows.

That is a stunning one but you don't need to buy the pattern. It's just a basic design - squares, sashings and corner stones. You determine the size of the squares and the sashings/corner stones.
