I'll be 55 in September been sewing off and on for years hoping to learn how to run a long arm quilting machine before I get out of this truck and then be able to quilt when I get to stay home for retirement,

I went to quilt shows with DW for years and always thought I could do that. At 63 I made my first quilt top and my DD did the the quilting. I have since make 6 or 8 tops I can't find time to learn FMQ yet for I still 50 to 60 hours a week. I will be 65 in Jan still do not plan on retireing.

I started at 62, my only regret is that I waited so long.

i started five years ago. I was about 62. After retirement. My mom used to do all my sewing. When she went into nursing home, she offered me her sewing machine. I took me two years to learn how to thread it, etc.

When I retired I was guided to a quilt shop after watching Simply Quilts on TV. I started with a block of the month project and three sewing machines later, I haven't quit yet.
