Thank you, Clare, for contacting us! And for the explanation! That's the best cause of a web site crash there could be!
For me the sewedge one sounds very useful and at $25.00 I don't think is too expensive and so what if its plastic? Most of today's sewing machines are too! Would it be better if it were metal? Many of our plastic rulers are costing way more than that! Maybe its just a matter of what value it would be to you. |
Oh dear, have always wanted the feet shown in the video, more goodies for the wish list. Will be interested in some reviews from the quilters on this site.
|
The video almost makes me want to go to the expo just to get these feet! :)
|
It shows the Satin Edge foot for $25. Does that sound high?
|
Hi,
I just took a quick look at the site so maybe I'm wrong but I think a lot of sewing machine brands have feet available that do the same thing. Perhaps the ones you have found are suggesting that one foot serves several purposes? For example, I have separate feet for piping, beading, cording, etc. but each basically serves one purpose. If you try them, you'll have to let us know! Pat |
I really should look at the feet that I already have but this looks so easy!
|
creative feet have to have them all!!!!!
|
I still haven't figured out how to use all the feet my machine came with, so definitely a pass for me.
|
they look interesting...
|
I bought these feet over 10 years ago. One of those things I had to have. Have I ever used them, no. Anyone want to buy mine? I have the book too.
|
Olivia's Grammy - I sent you a PM.
|
I bought all 3 of the creative feet from HSN long time ,11 yrs. ago and used them once. They work alright, but I wouldn't invest in them with all the great stuff on our sewing machines today. This is just my opinion.
|
I have the sewing set and have for at least..ten years maybe? I think I used one once.
|
I have had the set for many years I used the pearls and piping foot a few times and played with the others but havn't used them for quite a while. mabey I'll get the urge again Sandie
|
Each of our feet come with instructions - no matter how you buy them. If you haven't used them, I'm wondering why?
Satinedge has always been the most popular and if you understand all it is used for,it would be left on the machine 80% of them time. This foot ALL by itself and on any sewing machine can do this: Appliqué Cutwork Lettuce Edging Petite Appliqué Satin Stitch Edging Trapunto Appliqué Corded Satin Stitch Edging Fishing Line Edges Over casting Wire Eddges Edge Stitching 1/4" seams Scant 1/4" Seams Pintucking Stitching In A Ditch Top Stitching Invisible Appliqué / Garments Invisible Appliqué / Quilts Invisible Binding YOU NEVER HAVE TO HAND STITCH AGAIN ;) and when you're finished you don't see ANY stitch at all Yippie! Even on binding. - the feet do 88 different things - you don't have to do all of those however, if you bought every foot from every manufacturer you would still only be able to do 40% of what our 3 feet do. No sewing machine has these feet - the copies of my feet that they have are NOT the same and don't sew as well. Have any questions? I'm ready to answer :) |
Clare, I bought Creative Feet YEARS ago, but I haven't used them because not enough instructions came with them - definitely not for all the things you just mentioned. I would probably use them if they did - AND if I used them, I would probably recommend them to others. Maybe you should put some tutes here to show us how to use them!

Hi Clare: Thanks for joining and explaining things for us. I do not applique or do any fancy sewing. I just like to stipple with the free motion (darning foot) Which foot would I buy that would just do this? I saw something about hoops on your website, but there was no demonstration. Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to explain. :-) I went to your site, but didn't see the feet. The LAT sounded pretty cool, though. Mmmmm. |

I know your stuff is imp to you, but if we wanted the sales pitch we'd read it on your site. We'd rather know you, the person. |
I really appreciate the information that has been provided. I went to three different sites and none of them had the information that I found in clarerowley's post. I wanted to know more from someone who had actually had experience with the feet to help me make up my mind. I'm a little confused about one of the posts where one poster seems to be reprimanded and her post is defined as a "sales pitch," while another poster is reprimanded for not "raving," both from the same responder.
|
I have seen Clare demonstrate the feet and have used them in many situations that I don't have the proper foot for my machine. The feet work as she says. Ya it sounds like a sales pitch, but the product really works.

The whole just curious here part also indicates I wasn't reprimanding her. I simply wanted to know why the person felt the way they did about the product. Example. While a cast iron frying pan works I likely would not be "raving" about one unless it is a Lodge Skillet pan. I wanted to know what the person who said "raving' felt the product lacked for them not to love it. The Sales pitch, is if you look on the site and what Clare is saying her the same thing. I don't think it's unkind to ask someone to be themselves and not sell me via an advertising spiel. I don't come to this board to be advertised to, if I wanted that, I'd click on the advertising flashies that flash to me, which ironically enough are eve related stuff. I come to converse with people. For instance info for me, would be to hear in her own words how you can use that quilting foot to FMQ without having to hold it down. That is more info. |

I personally felt uncomfortable reading the copy and paste and just asked if she could be herself. And to be even more honest, there isn't information on what the feet do. Not really. Information on what the feet do would be a paragraph each of each feet. Not one line on how awesome stuff is. I personally felt uncomfortable with the way Clare was promoting herself. I expressed it. Frankly that way of promoting yourself, turns me off and makes me less inclined to buy a product. For instance, I'm less inclined to buy a Kirby after hearing one of those guys do their pitch, same with rainbow. If one of them came on here to talk and talked the same way they did their sales pitch, I'd be very leery about buying anything else. I simply asked her to be herself. Not to be the sales person. |

For instance the quilting foot, do you still do FMQ the traditoinal way or what? |

Just because I like her feet, it does not mean I use them for everything. I think Clare has a right to expound on her product that can assist others to do things better and easier. If you want to get on your soap box and complain about her, you've done it. Leave it!!! It is not appropriate for you to be belitiling others on this site. Clare invented her product for a woman who was blind, to get her back into sewing. The feet work! If you really want to grill her, go to a quilt show where she is demonstrating and see for yourself what the feet do beyond what she does on her web site. Stop the negativity. The rest of the quilting world doesn't want to hear it.

The feet do a lot- can't help that ;) Sorry to disturb and I only came into the discussion because members emailed me and asked me to talk in here. |

That is more info. if you don't know me, it may appear I'm pushing my products on you - but know that I only posted at the request of members that have the feet and wanted me to help everyone understand. I ONLY posted replying to posts that were stating things that I felt needed clarification. I'm really not needing to go into forums to sell my product (thank God) as my company has been successful for 22 years despite the attempts of sewing machine manufactures to copy my products. Know this..... NO sewing machine company has our feet - they may have some feet that do some techniques I listed but they do not have our feet. Mine came first. I'm a mother of 2 an American and a woman just like you that cares about people. I invented the Satinedge foot for a woman that inspired me 27 years ago and still does to this day. Mary was born blind and deaf and wanted to sew. That is who I am - a person that cares. I don't want you to be made to feel bad for your comments and hope that this all resolves itself and we all can get back to having fun with this amazing craft of quilting. As for the FREE MOTION QUILTING that is NOT done using the Satinedge foot - You were right to question that. Our Octi-Hoops are what does the Free Motion Quilting and it does not require any foot. Please know that all I am here for is to educate you all as an educator for 27 years and never want to ever make any of you feel as if I'm invading your space. |

After years of working with the feet I wrote a book consisting of 49 recipes of sorts for sewing techniques. This book is like a cook book in-that you don't have to learn it - you just use it to get all of your sewing ingredients together and mix it all up. In addition to the workbook I've completed an instructional DVD that works in conjunction with the book. This DVD is like watching me prepare the foot on the plate - so all of the mixing is already done in the workbook.... settings like needle to use, thread in both needle and bobbin, stitch to use - width, length etc.... The video was filmed close up - so you don't have to stare at me but rather at the feet. All I know is that we have a large customer base and those that open the package and start using them are happy. :o) and that makes me happy :) if my company was out to frustrate you with pushy sales tactics and a product that didn't live up to my claims then I suppose we'd be gone like so many others you've seen go out of business. Wishing all of you peace and wonderful happy sewing - quilting and embroidery moments~ |
