squint your eyes and look at the fabric as light, medium and or dark and just go from there. If you look at the old scrappy quilts that we all love and admire you would think the person who made it was definitely color challenged.
Also look at scale. You just have to toss it down and start arranging and not worry too much about "matching" Now I would not put a black and white poka dot in a woodland group of fabrics........don't sweat it. Stand back and take your glasses off if you wear them. Does any place stand out.....or if you don't wear glasses, then stand back and squint......Am I making my point? |
