Does anyone remember how to make a "quilt in a pocket?" It is from the 80s. I think you made a lap quilt and sewed a block on the front in which you left one side of the block unsewn. Then you folded up the quilt and stuffed it inside of the block thereby creating a pillow. I need to make one for my granddaughter but can't recall how to do it exactly. Anyone remember these?

I've seen instructions on-line, under the name Quillow. I'm not familiar with the "Quilt in a Pocket" name, but it sure seems to be the same thing. If I can find a link to some instructions I'll add it. Otherwise, just searching on Quillow should get you some good info.

I believe you're looking for a pattern called Quillows which is a combination of Quilt + Pillow. Basically, its a lap size quilt that can be folded up and stuffed into a "pocket" on the back of the quilt to create a pillow.

I certainly remember Quillows. When they came out in the 70"s I made tons of them. Still have some too in the living room. I see you found the name and patterns. Have fun.

I also know it as a quillow and I made one - or I should say that I attempted to make one. Now I realize that my fabric was off grain and the whole thing was wonky. I am not the one to give you instructions.

I remember them ... think I saw an old book in my stash of instructions yesterday ... if so, you can have it just for the postage if you'd like

Thanks everyone for the help. The links are just the help I need. Now off to Joann's to find ladybug fabric. Wish me luck!
