Well I can sew and use my machine so I suppose that is a plus. |
Welcome Rick from Canton, GA. Sounds like you're taking the ideal class for a newbie. Best of luck and can't wait to see your first post.

I am glad you liked your first class. Just wait till you get to play with fabric and make something. Hope you enjoy it all and continue. There are quite a few guys on here now. That is nice to see and it adds to our group. Have fun, and let us hear more about your classes. Jan

I have taught quilting through our local Adult Ed. I had a man several years ago and he sat in the back of the class, sort of by himself. It wasn't until the second class when I was sitting beside him to show something that I realized how big he was. He was about 6' 5" but it was not noticable until I sat down beside him. Then we discoved -- his hands were just about double the size of mine and we could not find a thimble to fit. Everyone got in on it and we finally tried that sticky but not sticky tape and he wrapped it around his finger (he wanted to hand piece and hand quilt) He did beautiful work.

Congratulations on being a quilter. Was talking to a gentlemen at my church yesterday and he is interested in quilting. He and his late wife were into scrapbooking, machine embroidery sewing and no he wants to learn quilting.
