I think either is also fine. but if I had to choose, I'd say boy.

I would say boy. And boy do I like it! If you change the outer color you could make it more girly.

It is lovely! I'm in no way a "prissy girl" (pink is not my color lol!) so I would be happy with it as a female! However, as most people lean a different way than I do... I would vote for "boy" and you do a more "feminine" color scheme for the girl.
