I use a double pointed bamboo knitting needle for my stiletto. They are pointed but not too sharp. Never thought about putting beads on it. hehehehe

Me too! I had to go look at them to see what they were. The turkey laces also had be bumfuzzled. I lead a sheltered life! |
The turkey lacers are pretty sharp but if you want to dull them a bit you can. Take a metal file and just dull the point a little. I like the sharp point because I can use it to keep the seam allowance down as the needle approaches the seams while piecing.

I use my great granma's hat pin, not to long and just stick it in my pincushion when not in use. I like it being sharp, fine point helps keep layers from sliping out of alignment.

My new one has a very sharp point but the point is very fine...it can hold onto the fabric without piercing it. Has a lovely wooden handle and is long enough to handle easily. I got mine at the Houston Quilt Show last fall from the Square in a Square booth (Jodi Barrows). My old one was slightly dull...I like the sharp one better. Can't sew without a stiletto!!
