I also purchased a walking foot and have found the ruffling foot I purchased to be of great assistance for the shams I make to go with the quilts and that retails for $80+, but I got it on sale and with a coupon. I also purchased a set of teflon feet for when I work with other fabrics, oh, and I purchased the piping and couching feet, too. Even with the mark on the machine I still like the 1/4" foot w/guide attached, I think that is the #57 and my Bernina only came with 1/4" #37. I also purchased a straight stitch plate as well.

I guess you should feel lucky that you haven't needed extra feet for the type of sewing you do.

Bernina has many specialty feet. You don't need them to do the job but the feet usually takes several steps out of your way. Just like specialty rulers over regular rulers. Go to a Bernina dealer and see all the new feet available. You will be surprised if you haven't kept up with what they can do. I buy specialty feet for all my machines. Once I use them I don't want to not use them for the sewing job. I never thought I'd use the button attachment foot until I made a wallhanging that had buttons on it. What a great job it did, put the button where you wanted it and sew it on in seconds. I don't see the reason to not try a new foot. It's just a foot.

Over the years I have purchased quite a few specialty feet for my Bernina Artista 200. I use them all and for me, they have been worth the cost. The first foot I bought was the walking foot. At the time, I thought it was very expensive; but I have certainly gotten my money's worth. I like the fact that the feet are not snap on feet.
