Your machine is beautiful. I have a really dumb question. I have a treadle machine that was given to me in our garage. I'm not sure if it works or not, but here is my question. Do you use your to sew with? piecing, quilting or what? Told you this was a dumb question.Do you find any difference when you sew with it.

Well isn't your husband just the nicest guy! Hope you let him know how much you appreciate him, especially since he got you just what you wanted.

Nice present. My treadle cabinet sits in the hall I put my Aunt's Singer machine on it. She passed away over a year ago. Sometimes I see her wandering about and a faint small of cigarette smoke is left behind. She was 84 when she went on her journey.

I, however, did not get an owner's manual and have no idea how to thread it. It's a double spool machine whereby one spool is for the top thread and one spool where the bobbin would normally be. Liking that feature but will need to find owner's manual somehow, somewhere. National was absorbed in 1953 and ceased to exist period in 1957. Anyway, here are some pictures. The serial # is H58689 and the bobbin plate has some pitting on it so some of the patent numbers aren't completely visible. Gal at LQS thinks the sewing shop will be able to get me the belt.
If anyone has an owner's manual or knows of website(s) where I might be able to get a PDF file, I'd appreciate the information. |
Congrats on your wonderful find. Enjoy it.
