That would be really cool having white stars!!! Hadnt thought about that option!!! Might do that for a second set!!! :D

Here is my Blue and White Star. By the way I hope, like Judy suggested you are all going to put a label on you blocks so we know whose is who, think that would be really cool.

Oh Elle that's so pretty! Beautiful work.

purplemem 11-04-2008 12:23 PM

Elle! That is just beautiful! Please make plenty so I get one too!
:D :D :D

SazuBMidlands 11-04-2008 12:23 PM

Thats fantastic Butterfly!

I think I'm going to do 2 sets, one for practice and one to send. I can then alternate between my set and the swops. The points on my first set arent matching too well yet, although from the advice on here the second block was a lot better than the first, so maybe by block 3 they will be ok to send - and I'll just have a couple of extras from the practicing.

Butterflyspain 11-04-2008 12:26 PM

Thanks everyone, that was blood sweat and tears. I never let things beat me though. Glad you all like it.

I did think about making 24 but at the rate I am going I think 12 is enough.

Elle, that is gorgeous!!! What is the pattern called? Is it paper pieced? Love it!!!

Yes its paper pieced from quilters cache called the Florida Star.

Glad you like it. There was a lot of blue air around when I was sewing today.

That's a beauty Ellie. If you do 24 they can be 12 of one and 12 of another.. so you do not need to do 24 of the same one...
think about it..

Butterflyspain 11-04-2008 01:28 PM

I am thinking Judy, because I really would like a large size quilt, not only that to have them made by all the ladies on this board would be awesome.

Lets see what I can do.

Elle :D

Oh wow, that is a gorgeous block! :) Perhaps one day you would be able to share a pattern?

I'll probably initial and date mine with a Pigma pen. :)

sandpat 11-05-2008 05:01 AM

Thanks, I will be doing it in different colour blues as I didnīt have much of the other one, which is a shame because it looks good in that fabric.

Okay if you want the pattern, its under Florida Star on Quilterscache.com
and its really easy to do, I made my blocks plain on the side and I think the original has a half square triangle.

SazuBMidlands 11-25-2008 12:44 PM

I've just completed my first set of twelve! They're even the right size and everything! Woo-hoo! :D
Second set is in progress, but might take a while since I have other bits to get on with too.

Cheers,
Amanda

amaleecol 12-09-2008 08:20 AM

I also have another question. Can we make two sets and get two sets in return!

-Amanda

sandpat 12-09-2008 09:54 AM

bump

Elizabeth A. 12-09-2008 01:17 PM

Amanda in the first handful of pages jstitch the hostess says it will be find for you to send two groups of stars. Just send her a PM about your interest.

amaleecol 12-09-2008 01:43 PM

Now that I come to think of it, I don't think I will make two sets. That is quite ambitious for me!!! I think I will just stick to one set. Thanks for your help though!

Janstar 12-09-2008 06:56 PM

Welcome from Washington, amaleecol. You will love this site!
