I have been doing this for years - it really works!!

I will try this at the cottage this year. At supper time I always seem to have one fly the escapes annihilation and pesters the table.

Wow, will have to try this around the barn! Is a sandwich size bag OK or should it be bigger? If the theory is a "mirror" or refracted light do they have to be outside where there is sunlight?

Thanks for sharing it!

Do you zip the bags shut or leave it open when you put the water in it?

What a great idea - and no toxic sprays!

lol I lived in Louisiana years ago and that is an old southern trick but works fantastic!! I did it in Oklahoma too and the whole street thought I was nuts but I never had flies and I started seeing baggies go up by doors all down the street HAHAHA

I grew up in the country (sticks) on a dirt road. There were some folks that pinned a cotton ball to their screen door as they said it kept the flies away. Mom was born and raised in Chicago, so she didn't go for a lot of the southern tricks, so to speak, therefore, we never used the cotton ball on the screen door. Does anyone have any idea if this trick worked or not with the flies? Mary
