there are many different sizes of blocks, have you picked out a size yet?? 6inch, 8 or 9 inch some are even 12 inches or bigger. It sounds like you are wanting to paper piece it ??? or do you need the pattern on paper to follow the directions, as well as the size of strips you need to cut???

If you'll decide what size block you want and how many different fabric you want to use I'll make you up a list from my EQ program.

With this one you don't need to measure and cut pieces and you don't need a pattern. Just make the strips any width you want. Make the center square the same width as your strips. For example, if you use 2" strips then make your center a 2" square.
http://www.bighornquilts.com/inspira.../logcabin.html I did this one using this method. It was very quick and easy. http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/17443.page |
I have used the method from pam's post and it was easy. The trick is to make sure and turn the piece in the same direction every time. (You'll know if you go the wrong direction). I layed my stips out in order and it turned out as planned.

As the directions say a few times... always make sure that the last piece that you sewed is towards your belly. After sewing on the last strip and cutting them apart, stack them next to the machine face down, which is how you are going to place them on the next strip, with the last strip towards you.
I only messed up once. Taking something apart is a quick lesson to not do that again. |
well i have the 1 or 1 1/2 square i got from Rhonda here that could be my starting square if you dont advice me otherwise???
I m happy to have more than one size too, perhaps one starting with that little one and one starting using 4 inch |
