I totally missed it at quilters cache cause I was looking at a 12" block! After talking with k9dancer I'm not sure this block will work in the size I need it. I may play around tonight though and see.

You could make it the 10" finished and put a frame around it to get it big enough. I don't know the math to convert a 10" to a 12" block. I think you get weird fractions in there. 2.75", I think, is too small and 3" is too big.

This was a very interesting discussion. I would like to learn more about drafting blocks... I love the Quilter's Cache!

Being a 5 patch, it is better as a 10 or 15 inch block. It's way too awkward as a 12 inch...I think the units were 2.9 inches cut!

Thank you, PaperPrincess, for showing the block with the lines drawn on. That makes it so much clearer. I see how you could do it quickly that way. Now it's on my list (which is already longer than I could finish in 2 or 3 lifetimes :lol: ).
