I also love my clips (off-brand) and have only had 1 break--because I stepped on it.

Resisted the Clover (brand) clips for a long time but tried a bag of 10 out recently. Same day they arrived, i ordered another bag of 100. Excellent quality, feels like they'll last a long time also. Can't speak for the non-brands as haven't tried them but very happy spending the extra on the Clover brand https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/thumbup.png I like the measured marks on them and the fact they are made in Japan (and not somewhere else). Can't fault them, apart from the cat seems to like playing with them.

ps: pins are still my preference though just because old habits die hard https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png

I have the Clover clips and do use them on occasion. Sometimes something is too thick to pin. I don't remember ever seeing any other brand.

I have a box of 50 Clover brand I got at Joanns a few years ago at 50% off. I love them. They are the small red ones. Besides using on my quilt binding, I use them in purse making, holding vinyl together while sewing valet trays, etc. I am always trying to shop for best deals and hesitated several times whether to purchase or not, in case I didn’t like them or wouldn’t use them. I haven’t regretted my purchase.

I really like the Clover clips. In fact, I like everything Clover makes. I trust their quality. I got some free with some British quilting magazines, and I don't like them. I had to file down little nubs of plastic on them, some of the springs weren't tight, some clips broke with little use. I don't think I would risk trying any other brand.

Brand loyalty keeps the over-priced companies in the black. If there is a difference, other than price, I don't see it. It's not like Clover clips are made in the USA. In that case I'd give them a pass and even support them. Otherwise I'll use what works equally well, at a lesser cost. I've never regarded the Clover brand as being exceptional. They have some exclusive products but find the quality to be mediocre at best.

I have real Clover clips, which I got in a goody bag from a class that I took. I loved them so much, I bought a set of 100, both large and small and use them all the time. I must admit that the knockoffs that I bought on Amazon work just as well as the Clover brand.
