I use an office chair that I got at Walmart. I don't like arms though. They seem to get in the way. I like being able to roll around.

I have carpet where I sew which means no wheels. I found an old sturdy wood chair with a wide seat, and tall back just the right height for my tall frame and it allows me to get right under the sew table with my knees. I made a new cushion for it and it works fine for me.

My old chair was getting floppy so I went to Office Depot and bought a new one. It is on rollers and just an office chair with short arms on it. I find it very comfortable and it is adjustable to each person. Has the height adjustment on the side for different uses. I think it was $59. or thereabouts. Sometimes you can catch a good sale. Good luck as a comfortable chair will prevent many aches and pains.

Sorry I just read through the listings. I also have a WalMart chair that my husband likes for the computer. I cannot sit in it without my back and legs hurting. It is not made for a woman in my opinion. You need to sit and try it out for a few minutes before making a decision. It it is not right don't get it as you will never be happy.

Don't know a brand anme. i bought mine at Sears when they had a 50% off sale. Make sure it has rollers because a quilter is always up and down to the iron or stash. No arms so you can get close to the machine.

I use an office chair too. It was fine with the arms on, but I removed them so I could get just a tiny bit closer to my machine.

I have two office chairs - think they are from Office Max. Both are comfortable.

I took the office chair from the computer table and use it for sewing. It is comfortable, you can adjust the seat, arms, it swivels and leans back really nice (the computer table now has a kitchen chair..lol)...

Bought a stenographer's chair (without arms) from Staples for $69 -- have it for 10 years, good as new and very comfortable.

I use a office chair as well and definitely recommend taking the arms off as they can get in the way when you are at the machine. I get backaches often, so I even take this chair with me to long classes and retreats. I've gotten so used to a chair with wheels, that it's hard to go to class and not be able to scootch in just a little.
