I have an 8" x 24" Olfa. It works great for me when I need 8" width. Not very often.

I have two of the Quilters Select ruler 6x 24 and the 8 inch square one. They are not my go-to rulers though. Something about the frosted yellow color. Check the markings on the ruler. You can read it from any direction so you have to be mindful of the measurements.
I have yellow and green Olfa rulers and do use them. It really depends on the project and what I am cutting. My go to rulers are the Creative Grids, 6.5 by 24.5 (also used to ruler fold fabric) and the 6.5 by 18.5 plus other sizes. I like that there are some black lines and white lines. Easy to see on light or dark fabrics. The marking lines are longer so line up easier for me. Consider how you like to see the markings. I will confess that the MSQC 5x15 jumped in my cart last week. I love it to ruler fold pieces that are less than a fat quarter. Perfect size! So it's different rulers for different tasks in my sewing room. PS: See how the pinky finger is on the edge of the ruler about 2:06 in the video? I started using this method as it helps hold the ruler in place. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGPnyoea81M |
I love Quilters Select. Once I bought my first one, I was a goner and won't use anything else.

I bought my first Quilter's Select ruler last fall and I love it. When my other rulers need replacing I intend to replace them with Quilter's Select brand.

I tried a Quilter’s Select ruler and it was great. Only reason I haven’t bought any is that I have so many rulers - mostly Creative Grids.

I like Quilter's Select rulers alot except that the corners chip very easily. This has happened on more than one of mine. I always buy one when they go on sale around Christmas from The Quilt Show shop.

Inaccurate Olfa Rulers....Oh my. I have a ton of them.....will have to check them...Several years ago I bought a set of Paula Dean Measuring cups....recipes were not coming out the same.....so I used two other sets of measuring cups to compare. Paula Dean's cups were all way short of what should have been the measurement. Called them....they said take it back to WalMart. They couldn't help the issue, since they were made in China and they were no longer carrying them.....Gee wonder why. What waste of time and money.

I have several different brands of rulers, but since I bought my first Quilters Select, I have never bought another brand. One of my biggest problems is if the ruler slips just a bit as I am cutting resulting in a seam allowance that is not exactly 1/4".

I have both rulers & prefer the Quilter's Select. I Was cutting with the Olfa frosted & it slipped a little. Trimmed that wonky edge & recut with the QS. No slipping at all. I do keep them in the plastic sleeve when I'm not using them.
