Wow! That certainly is a wonderful transformation. I never would have guessed your beginning point from your end point. It all ties together so nicely that I actually though that it was just a single, compicated block.
I personally like the binding to "show" in most cases. For me, that way it doesn't feel like the quilt just falls away. The binding feels like a frame to me. With the measurements you gave me, it feels to me like it would be reasonable and not get too big if you added the white border or even any colour not dark green and then the green binding would pop out and frame it. It is a wonderful quilt and a great save. i am sure that whomever gets it will love it. Tara |
You might want to try a binding with a "faux" piping of the whithe plus whichever color you choose for the binding itself. Here's a tutorial of the "faux" piping binding I'm talking about:

I think the small white border would be a nice frame for it. It looks beautiful. Love the colors.
