I was given some 1 pound butter bowls and made a pumpkin and a turkey candy dish. I was thinking about trying a rabbit for Easter.

Hi, I made Baked Potato Bags as gifts for Christmas and they were a big hit. You can download a free tutorial by searching Baked Potato Bag. Good Luck

Lavender hearts are good sellers here. Just find an image on Google images of a heart, copy it and use it as your base pattern. You can then create scrappy hearts, colour themed hearts and fill them with dried lavender.
Once you have a good template, they are quick and easy to make and to fill with dried lavender. Very useful for keeping the moth away from clothes and gently perfumes a closet. |
Note cards...Put fusable web on back of pretty fabric, rotary cut ro desired size and iron onto card. I usually write words around the fabric...love joy peace happiness etc.. Package with envelopes with ribbon or zip lock bag! You can get a big pack (loke computer paper pack) of card stock and cut the sheets in half with a rotary cutter and save a lot of money. Only cost is for the envelopes !

I took a quilted place mat and folded it half way up[long ways] And I sewed fitted pockets for a Pen,Small pad of paper, envelopes, and stamps. I sew it to be able to tri-fold it. It makes a great gift and it great for traveling,or at the Hosp.
Oh, I also sewed a piece of Velcro to keep it shut. You can really dress them up too. I have made hundreds of them. You can use pretty much ANY fabric place mat[or make one] that can be folded. |
I made my daughters aprons from recycled jeans, they loved them. I didn't insert fabric onto the yoke but made a tie for the waistband by sewing a piece of fabric 36 x 4/1/2 lengthwise and inserted it through the belt loops and tacking it down on the center and ends.you can add some cute flowers cut out from fabric and sewn on to apron. here is a link that is similar.http://mybyrdhouse.blogspot.com/2007...ans-apron.html

Coffee cozies were a popular gift this last winter. I made several & everyone told me that they use it all the time. There are many tutorials out there - just type in 'coffee cozy' & you should find lots.
