Did Gingher stop making scissors?
My daughter bought me lovely "designer series" ones for Christmas, I was looking to buy some for my sister and nobody seems to have them. I'm seeing them for un-real prices on ebay and Amazon (like $100 for 4" ones.
Anyone have another idea where to find them? Joann's is no. |
Fiskar bought them out........
|
They are still available at Jo-Ann's.

My wal mart started carrying Gingher so I thoght something was different

Our J's doesn't have them hanging "out" anymore. You have to take the card up to the front and they will get them for you. For a while, I thought they didn't have any. Till I realized they treated them this way.
|
Our Joanns still has them available, or at least they did a few weeks ago.
|
The last two pair I purchased were nowhere near the former quality. I switched to Dovos.
|
Don't you just hate it when that happens. Why do they have to take something thats perfect and change it? Guess I better go buy another pair before the good ones are gone.!

I discovered the scarcity of the decorative Gingher scissors about a year and a half ago. I wanted to give a pair to my grandson's wife and all I could find were one's with gold handles, no florals. Now I know why.

When I first bought the Gingher scissors they were great. They were made in Germany and were really sharp. (I'm talking at least 30 years ago.) A friend had a pair, but she said she didn't like to cut with them, it was too hard to squeeze them. I took a look and sure enough they were much harder to cut with than mine. Then I looked to make sure they were Ginghers and there, under Gingher it said Taiwan. Guess that explains it!
