I was doing some searching about D9P quilts and found this one. It is cut a bit different than I have seen, it is the second one down. I think what looks like sashing between the cuts on the 2nd one may be the shadow from the seam allowances on the back of the quilt top. The photo must have been taken with the sun behind it. I agree with you, they are both pretty patterns.

This is a little confusing, but having made several d9p's, my doesn't look like that. I clicked on the blue line and there is a "second page" with d9p!

I have made the disappearing 9 patch. Its kind of fun rearranging them to create your own design.
