Not yet, thank goodness. I have done machine quilting, in fact one year when my husband lost his job, I quilted 25+ table runners for gifts because I had fabric and batting and we didn't have money for presents. For me I just didn't like the process. I love piecing by machine. If I ever had to give up handquilting and applique, I probably would send my quilting out to get done, as long as I could still machine piece.

And if worse came to worse, I would read more than I do now, which is a lot.

I always do my own. Hand or machine depending on the quilt.

I have only sent one out to be quilted. All the others I have tied, hand, and machine quilted. I just started using my quilt frame for which is stood in the living room all by it self for three years. To scared to use it. This week alone I have finished two tops and third one is on and ready to go. Many more quilt tops to finish. I am happy I finally got past being intimidated by it. Happy quilting everybody:)

I am a do it yourselfer from word go! I do all of mine mainly FMQ but have done a few grid and SITD. Most of the quilts I do are either Lap,Crib or King.......never anything in between... :roll:

I do not think I would ever send anything out, but I do admire the work that the Long Armers do. :thumbup:

I always quilt my own. I use my Juki (The nine inch throat is a god send) and I just got a Grace frame. It sure does help.

I can't seem to even consider sending my quilts out!Maybe down the road I can. My neighbor does and they are beautiful when they come back. It just doesn't set well with me though for mine.

I can't afford a long arm quilter. I use scraps so my cost is low - I want to keep it that way. If I bought lovely coordinating fabrics at $9/yard, sent it out, etc, I'd have a project worth about $1000. No thanks.

I am a hand quilter. but I do worry about the time when I no longer can do all of them by hand, so I am now trying to learn to machine quilt. i would love to just be able to make tops, and send them out, but no where near me .
