I try, but usually forget until things are gone. I have made a number of pillowcases for dgs and did not take pictures. Since many of my quilts are for charity, I can't go visit them later.

To respond to this post as well as the one about taking classes. I have used my phone to take video of a technique at a class, then saved it.

I have a Quilt Journal w/info on pattern, size, who it was made for & why & when it was made. Photo is printed out for this, but also keep a quilt file on computer.

I also have pics of most of my crossstitch, needlepoint & stained glass projects I've made over the years.

it helps me with design prospective - most of the time i'm working inches from a project and taking a photo from a couple feet away makes a big difference on how you see things.

Ditto on this.. Always and with every project, quilt related or not.

I try to take a picture of all my quilts. I've found out the hard way that it's all most impossible to get someone to send you a picture if you've forgotten. I used to journal them better than I do now. I've made so many quilts that it's timely to keep up with all the whos wheres and whys.

Yes I take photos of the quilts I have made, keep them on the computer, backed up on a flash drive and also printed out and in a small quilt album along with details of when they were made and what happened to them.

When I started quilting I put a picture of each item in a Word document, but that got too big real fast. I now keep a log (an Excel spreadsheet actually) that lists each quilted item, the approximate date finished, its size, whether it has a sleeve and label, who it was given to, other comments. I also take several digital photos of everything I make. Each item has its own folder, with the folder name being the date and item (e.g., 2008_01 Snake River). It's working for me so far. I don't print the photos, but I do have a good backup system.

I don't have a digital camera to share any of my quilts with you but I try and take a film picture of the quilts I donate to qiults4kids.

absolutely! especially if I give them away.

And I have family who like to see them and who do not own a computer (Aunt in her 90s...)
