I made a quilt top not long ago & do not like it at all. I also made a couple mistakes on cut placements. I don't want to take the time to layer & quilt it. I am on a very limited income so putting the money into it is not something I can really afford to do.
What do you ladies suggest? |
Send it to me.
I love it. J J |
I think it is a lovely quilt. I love blue roses tho! Even have a tattoo of a blue rose on my shoulder - a gift from my dh several years ago. Hope you can find someone or something to give the quilt to.
I'll take it.
maybe donate it to a local guild they can always use it for a linus project!!i like the colors
you could it as backing for another quilt!!
I think it is beautiful. Maybe some one will trade or buy it from you. List it here on the baord. I am sure I am not the only one that thinks it is very pretty. Lovely colors and layout.

Idea for placemats... how about some pot holders.. everyone can always use a couple of them - you could gift them if they were not to your liking.. :)

Susansomething, I think it's very pretty and someone would be very happy to receive it. Donate it to a group that quilts.
That's a pretty quilt and you need to put it away for a year and then look at it. Lots of work in it for sure!
If you don't like it, you don't like it.
I think the colors and pattern are attractive - but then, I like spaghetti (heated up) for breakfast and don't mind oatmeal for a bedtime snack. |
I understand - i've made a few I don't care for anymore, mostly they were mystery patterns and I wasn't able to choose the best colors/prints. My guild gives them to the local foster kids, or displaced families, YMCA/YWCA probably has some contacts or the local women's shelters. Contact your local quilt shop to see what they can give you in leads. (It is a pretty quilt, and someone will love to have it!)
Do you have a local quilt shop with a group that does charity work.......
it is beautiful !!!!!!!
I'd suggest maybe taking it to a local quilt shop for some suggestions. |
I think it is very pretty. Why don't you like it?
I think it is lovely and someone will be very happy to get it to quilt themselves!
I like it! Everyone has different tastes - I'll bet if you finish it, someone will rave over it and you can gift it to them when the time is right!
maybe you can contact this member through this thread: Lap quilts for nursing home residents and donate it to her.
I have a contact who does long are quilting for free for Quilts of Valor...let me know if you want to send it to her. It's a great charity
Read the article posted above yours. Donate it to those people in the Nursing Home who do not have enough clothing to keep them warm!

I think this is really nice! If you truly don't like it, donate it -- I guarantee that someone will love it!
you could ask at one of the church's in your area, I am sure they would know someone that would be glad to take it and finish it and make sure it gets a good home. I personally think it is very lovely
Our local hospital makes quilts for patients ... they even have a longarm machine so they can do the whole thing ... maybe there is a hospital that could use it.
I think it's very pretty and I'm sure someone will just love it. I see that you already found someone to quilt it for you and the person will donate it to charity. That is very kind of you, and i'm sure the person who gets it will be just thrilled with it.
Thanks to KSellers who will be long arming the quilt & donating it to charity. The generosity of the people are another reason I love this board. Have a great day Susansomethings.
I would suggest either donating it to a local quilt guild or using it as a backing for another quilt that you will be giving away.
show us a pic if you can. No quilt is ever ugly. someone will just love it.
I think it is very pretty. What I did with mine was used it to practice FMQ. It was hanging over the back of a chair and my nephew walked in and loved it. Guess what he got for a Christmas present. Sometimes guys like different quilts than we girls do.
I think it is very pretty but, if you don't like it, do what others have
suggested and donate it. I,m sure others will like it. |
I think it's very pretty! Maybe you'll like it after it's quilted -- that happens sometimes :) If you can't find what to do with it -- send it to me and I will be happy to finish it to donate!!!
Very kind of you! What a wonderful offer :)

I think it is beautiful, maybe you should put it away for a couple of months and maybe when you look at it again you will like it.
