How about when you are machine sewing and the thread pulls out of your needle because you didn't pull or forgot to pull the thread out far enough when starting to sew

When chocolate isn't enough. It is time for Jack.

Years ago when I lived in a small logging community a friend was looking for a special project she had put away under the pull out couch, She was squatted in front when she fell backwards landing on the big ball of crochet thread , The needle was hook up , needles to say she went all the way to the Drs office 30 miles away on her hands and knees in the back seat of her car.The worst part was that she had been cleaning house all morning and was in her husbands boxer shorts because they were cool and loose, we had no coolers back in those days , She was so embarrased, now it is funny when we look back on it.

"don't ya just hate it when" Gets better all the time.

When you get the energy to vacuum your sewing room/ area you hear something clinking but nothing under the vacuum then you find it an empty spool. you just sucked up an entire roll of thread.. Yeah me now I get to go buy more thread.

Or what just happened to me - put the fusible interfacing wrong side down and had to scrape it off the ironing board!!!! Plus most about everything else mentioned.

Just who decided that clear bobbins were a good thing???
When I drop them, I can't see squat - and that's WITH my glasses on. Why don't they make them in colours, or metal again? |

I can't take credit for the following. It was sent to me via email by my BQFF (best quilting friend forever) just yesterday. Could she be your long lost twin? --->
"Picked up where I left off last Sunday quilting a moldy, oldie. Ran out of bobbin thread, loaded another one and restarted. Realized the tension was way off. Ripped out back to the bobbin change. Fixed the tension and finished two passes on the quilt. Knocked over my Ott light and broke the bulb. Decided I'd had enough for the day. Went to JoAnn's to get a replacement bulb. Came home with crafter's gloves in a putrid green color, thread, small curved blade scissors, Ott light bulb for a normal lamp but no replacement bulb for the broken one. It's a good thing I brought my coupons, I got 40% off everything." |
Some of the Viking machines have lovely colored bobbins.
I have a Sapphire 875 and it came with green bobbins and they also come in yellow, hot pink, red & dk. blue. Sharon W.

I keep my pins in a magentic paper clip holder. That way no spilled pins when bumped. Just shake them out. I use the larger holder.
About when you are ona roll and it is time to do something else like eat or sleep. |

How bout when you drop the spool of thread and the cat proceeds to play with it, wrapping it around the chair and table legs and anything else that gets in the way!
|
Been there done that. Just makes me wonder what world I woke up in that day.

This always happens to me. I wish they would put an alarm in the machine to let you know.
Mine has a flashing light and the machine stops to let you know your almost out.
My Viking stops when the bobbin gets just a few winds left on it and I see a message that I need to change the bobbin, it won't sew until I do. It's annoying sometimes as there is enough thread left to finish the seam. |

I have tried that and it doesn't work with my Sapphire 875, it just stops and beeps at me . It won't sew anymore until I put another bobbin in it. |
Just what we need -- machines that talk back to us.

Don't you hate it when you go to a class, with a full plastic case of bobbins, and a box of pins...and you proceed to drop the bobbin case and bobbins are rolling all over the floor in every direction, unwinding as they go, and while trying to pick up bobbins you tip over the box of pins and the lid comes off and they all spill out, and you didn't bring your magnet to class? You are definitely the center of unwanted attention. Ask me how I know.
|
Oh, please, TWW, don't make me snort soda out my nose again. I'm going to a quilt retreat next weekend for the first time, and the image of me with the pins and bobbins all askew just won't go away. I hope it's not going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
|
Most definitely! That one tickled my funny bone!
|
Yep, but it keeps everyone out of my chair! They have all learned the hard way!lol
|
I admit nothing because I do not know how many needles I have lost in the sofa!
They just pop out of my hand. I guess that is an admission. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Quilter 68/69 Okay, the biggest mistake that I have made was to cut the strips for a log cabin twice as big as required. Then proceed to make the full amount of blocks. Only one person in the extended family had a living room/dinning room big enough to lay this monster out for basting. And I took off a row because it was too big. |

I hate it when I absent-mindedly leave my pin cushion out when I go running errands and when I get back I find that my kitten has found it and has scattered the pins all over the couch. Bless her little heart. Thank goodness the pins have the large over-sized heads on them, easy to find.
