You have a picture of my hydrangea at the corner of our house! I have a picture just like that

I have made 3 double wedding ring quilts, and once you "get the Hang" of what to do, it goes very easily. The big issue is to make sure you measure and mark accurately, and use lots of pins when you put it together. There are some acrylic templates at JoAnn Fabrics for the pattern, which are durable enought to last for the whole process of cutting out the piecesfor the quilt - I believe they may be by Sharlene Jorganson. Mine had two sets - one for the actual pieced rings, and one for solid color rings.
Good quilting, and post a picture when you get it done.

I also used Shar Jorgenson's templates and book, I had a very easy time making this quilt. I made one back in 1984 that I had to cut each piece out one at a time. You had to trace around a sand-paper template. That one took me 2 years to complete.

I bought this too but haven't done anything with it yet. Have to finish other WIPs first.

I made one for my son and his bride. Never again! I used the Quilt in a Day method and I think it took longer than if I were to just do it the older way. I don't have a pic on this computer or I would post one.

Do you know someone with an AccuQuilt machine? They could cut all of the pieces for you quickly. I have the dies for the Double Wedding Ring and it is a snap to cut!!

You might want to take a look at Judy Neimeyer's paper piecing pattern for the double wedding ring, the one that uses Bali batiks. I saw this quilt at the AQS show in Knoxville and georgeous does not begin to describe that quit. Someone on this board is making this quilt now, I think. I really, really want to get that pattern.

I just tried to see Simply Quilts. It said video can't be found. That is OK I have it some where any way. I would like to do it one day too, but not yet.

Aunt Bea,

I am cutting mine by hand too. Hope mine turns out as well as yours has. I enjoy the time I spend cutting out pieces by hand. It is so peaceful and soothing to my body and soul.

Several yers ago I cut and hand pieced the wedding ring. It was well worth the time and effort; I followed the directions exactly (which for me is unusual) and am very pleased the quilt. Good Luck.
