Can someone tell me what online sites they use for tips on machine embroidery? I didn't have any instruction when I bought my Brother NV 1500D and am learning on my own. So far, I am not having very much luck, though. :( I really need some tips and tutorials to help me along the way. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Try www.emblibrary.com and also www.annthegran.com. Both sites have some great articles. I actually printed some off and put in a notebook for reference.

Clqltr......thank you soooo VERY much for posting the pictures of your quilts. They are beautiful. I'd like to think that someday I'll learn to do a fraction of what you can do.

I started off great but don't know if I changed some setting on it but now when I go to type in the lettering I want I can only do one line...it won't go to the second line and I hadn't changed the font or size of font.

When I go to the sign up page it says "your membership is awaiting approval of group
To get multiple lines use the embroidery tab and select "lettering" You'll select your font and in the box start typing, to go to a second line press "control+enter" if you press enter only, like typing in a word processor the program reads it as complete and creates your font design on the screen..

As for the yahoo group. It's a holiday week with the 4th in the middle, could be they are on an extended holiday. Wait till the middle of the week, it should be ok... :)

No, there is no user manual that comes with it...it is a free program and before you even download it you are notifird of this and also told that it is best used by an experienced digitizer. But mainly I downloaded it for simple tasks and to create quilt labels.

There is a users manual! When you first open the program the first screen shows three rows of "links" the first link in the first row is the users manual. That same row list several tutorials too. Have fun!!

Here are a few things that I have embroidered for my new grandbaby that is due in August.
I did these on my Babylock Emore, it is an embroidery only machine. It was only sold for a short time but I love it.
The largest hoop size is 5 x 7.

Absolutely LOVE your baby items! I am taking your ideas and I'm going to do some things like this for my 1st grandbaby due July 29!!! Guess what I am going to be doing tomorrow?!!

I love http://www.artisticthreadworks.com/ They are a membership site, but the have 100's of embroidery tutorials and digitizing tuts... Holly and Larry are great. It was the information and training available that convinced me to purchase Generations Plus digitizing software. Right now I'm working through Holly's apprenticship program for digitizing. I'm loving it. Mona

Sewforum.com is sponsored by Allbrands and has free designs and forums--lots of info. Cuteembroidery.com has a community forum & you can askquestions/members are so good to give answers. You must register at both sites to access. At Cute, you can buy or enjoy free designs at Designs by Cuties. There is truly a wealth of information out there if you can find it.
Can someone tell me what online sites they use for tips on machine embroidery?

There are alot of sites out there that sell designs and then also offer tutorials and tips. Emblibrary.com has a project list with good info along with Kenny's corner; both have great info on everything from designs to stabliziers, needles, etc. myembroidery.com which is Phaff and Vikings web site has lots of good info (information counts no matter what machine you have) and Tidewater Sew and Vac has a web site and they sponsor Florani (sp wrong) and they have good tips. Also, yahoo has good groups for most machines and should be able to offer support on your machine. I hope I have helped. Good luck, once you get going you'll be hooked and love creating. If I can help, just ask.
