I love this quilting technique also. Very good instruction book that includes designs; and lots of extra packs/designs available for purchase. Her U tube/videos are very good instruction also. She's a kick to listen to.

My older Bernina uses .pes format. I don't know about the newer ones. I'm going to tell the DH that I want an embroidery machine for Christmas. Who knows where I'll put it but I want it :D He always asks me if there's anything I want for my birthday/Christmas!

That's because the Deco machines aren't really Berninas at all. What you have is a machine badged with the Bernina name and built by Brother. Some of the Deco machines are Brothers and some are Janomes.

I struggled with developing my FMQ skills, but it takes time. I decided to use my Janome 14000 for quilting. I purchased some designs specifically for quilting (regular embroidery designs are too messy on the back). I also have software to size my designs exactly(Sew What Pro). I have completed 3 quilts this way and plan on continuing with it. I love the perfect designs and ease of quilting. The selection of designs is wonderful. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions.

I have several women I know who use their embroidery machines to quilt their quilts. There are a lot of motifs sold by various embroidery digitizers. I have quite a few--all of the Amelie Scott sets but haven't used them yet.

No, I don't. My 1630 and my Artista 180 both use .pes
