I'm fortunate: my sewing room (basement) is actually the coolest room in the house in the summer. My windows are to the East - really good light. I'm outside a lot in the summer with flowers and garden but I sew some almost every day. Our quilting church group took a summer break and we each took a project home to do and we'll have "Show and Tell" in the Fall.

Too hot? Only when I am having personal power surges ! (hot flashes) ;);)

I have a/c but am on an on peak, off peak electricity plan. Utility Co call to tell us to limit out electrical use between 12 noon to 6pm. So we cool down the house to 73 degrees and turn off the A/C at 12 then use ocillating fans to stay cool. When it is 108 outside by 3pm it is too hot to quilt. Usually wait to make dinner after 6pm when the a/c is back on and maybe a few hours on the sewing machine that is if I am not on this board..

Never too hot to piece, but FMQ and binding can get warm even with the AC on. Never too hot to quilt because it keeps me out of the sun.

My sewing room does not have air and right now its hitting over a 95 by about 3 and that is just way to hot for me to even sew. All that heat rises its a probably I will need to address that at some point.

As a Canadian I find quilting very seasonal for me. I don't find it too hot too quilt, but I find it too nice outside to quilt. I love to go out, ride my bike, garden, or if I'm feeling crafty I will knit or paint outside on the deck. Quilting for me is typically an indoor wintertime activity or on a summertime rainy day. :)

My house is not air conditioned, and when it gets to about 30C (I think that's about 86F) outside, it's only a few degrees cooler inside and I can piece, but having the iron on is too much. If my house was air conditioned, the outside temperature wouldn't matter and it would never get too hot to quilt.

I sew all year round... and when its too hot outside , I am glad my sewing room is in the basement... its so cool there.

I used to find it hard to quilt in the heat, my hands stuck to the fabrics but now with air conditioning it is lovely to sit and quilt.

Rain or Shine, Hot or Cold.. I sew almost every day. I miss it when I don't .
