What kind of 'boards' are you using? Comic boards? Or MILate's boards?

I guess if you use comic boards or something similar, you can fold the fabric so it is only 3.5" wide then you can wrap two fabrics on one board.

I use the boards that MILates sells here on QB and she sells small boards that are perhaps 5X4 and perfect for FQ's or even smaller sizes.

I bought several foam boards from the dollar store and cut them 8x10, trying to get the most cuts from one board.

I cut the foam boards 4x6.5 inches then wrap the fabric less than one yard. I bought a shelving unit for DVD's at a yard sale and they hold them beautifully.

Question, an honest one, with your fabric on shelves like this do you have a problem with dust or fadding....two things I worry about which is why mine are in drawers in the closet ???? but yours looks better

I keep the fabric out of the sun and yes there is dust (dont we all have dust?) but not alot of dust.

my fabric is also away from sunlight and I store my "currently" flat folded on shelving bought at Home Depot. I have 8 - 72" long shelves full (there's approx. 10" between the shelves) so I am approaching the hoarding stage if I don't stop buying fabric and get more stuff sewn.
