I was driving home from a trip to Mississippi and stopped at a Walmart about 50 min. west of home and found they had a fabric dept. I was thrilled as our home Walmart does not. I bought several nice fabrics for 2 and 3 dollars a yard. Since I have to drive the same distance in the other direction just to buy fabric (none sold in my town) I plan to start going to this Walmart. My current budget just can't afford LQS prices.

Good for you. Not all projects require LQS fabric.

That way you can still support your LQS, even on a budget. |
I buy material all the time at Wal-Mart. You just have to get the good stuff and be sure you watch those fat quarters as most are pretty thin. They seem to have different grades of material. You not only have to feel it, but look close at the weave.

I've used a lot of walmart fabrics! I can't always afford $10 or more a yard! I give most of my quilts away so have to cut costs. As ling as it's good quality and u like it fine!!

Sometimes I find really nice fabric at Walmart.

So do I. You can tell by the feel of it whether or not it is good quality.
