No way, keep looking - they show up all the time in all price ranges. You can probably find one for under $100 and even if you have to pay $40-50 to have it serviced, you're in good shape. I paid $45.00 at a garage sale and $40. to have it cleaned and serviced

I eventually settled on a used Janome to take to class. At home I sew on my Bernina, which I love. However, the Janome is a great machine as well and sews fast.

I have 3 featherweights. One was 350.00, the other was 220.00 and one was 190.00. The last turned out to be a cintennial edition, I was told when I had it serviced. Love to sew on them,my husband doesn't understand since I have a wonderful Bernina. They are great to take in the camper.

I paid $425 for my FW about 15 yo. I have just recently started using it regularly. I do all my piecing on it and less than a year ago I bought the Janome 6600. Still turn to the FW.

Don't worry... when you find her, it will be worth the wait.

Saw 3 Featherweights in an antique store in Arkansas last week. They ranged from $425 to $525. The $525 machine was in excellent condition, no scratches, decals perfect, case not scratched. The other two had obviously been used more and showed some wear. Seemed high to me.

I think that is a litte too high. I just bought one on ebay last week 1941, for $192.00. She has a few attachments and a footpetal and case. I didn't need the button holer and some of the other attachments , just wanted her for straight stitching.
Keep looking, she will come when it's meant to be. |
Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks, I'll have the foot pedal checked out. Thanks again, really appreciate it.
