I have many that I have collected. I got started when I met Jane Clarke Stapel, the original FeedSack Lady, I have yet to make anything with them but when I do it will be Dresdan or another pattern of that vintage in a circular motif probably.

THere are several patterns that are from the same 30's/40's era that they work nicely in. They can be used just like today's cottons but look best if used with muslin or other vintage looking fabric. Or, many people here love feed sack fabric and if you don't want to use them you could post them here for sale. I'm not certain but I think the average rate for a whole sack is around $15.

I agree with those that say to use them.. they are pretty and wear like iron!! Ohhhh.. featherweight.. I'm so jealous.. looks like an awesome book...

It does look like an awesome book. I think I will add it to my todo list. Maybe an apron, too. That is if I have enough left over. :)

If I remember correctly, a yard is one feedsack. They make up beautifully, especially into patterns from the 30's and 40's. I keep thinking I'll sell my uncut feedsacks but so far have been unable to part with them so I have a small but nice collection. Also have a quilt I started a few years ago but put aside; maybe it's time to get it out and work on it. The Feedsack Club used to have a convention in Lancaster PA every year which coincided with the big quilt show in the spring. They were a fun bunch of people!
