Can't wait to retire. Hubby is retiring next year and he likes to rub it in. Like you, I am stocking up for when I retire in 3 yrs. Have fun and enjoy your new found freedom.

Congrats to you..... I know you will love your new life.... getting to sleep in late if you want and time to quilt when you want to quilt. I've been retired for 10 years now and I'm still having a good time. It sure beats having to get up at the crack of dawn and drag out to work. I really loved my job but it was a job!!

During the summer months, I live in the UP of MI as well. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy your leisure. .... and get all those quilts done that have been in your dreams. Have fun!!

Congratulations. I wonder now, when did I have time to go to work. There's so much more fun stuff to do, like quilting :)

Exactly what I have remaining, Kareno! Experience tells me it will go by in a flash, but oh boy, every Monday is a drag:). I just want to be home and create!!

Congratulations...have fun on your trip, specially knowing you will be coming back to NOT have to go to work and to be able to enjoy quilting.

Congrats and welcome to the retiree family. I am recently retired too and love having time to myself, after 38 years. We are moving soon, so I get to set up a new studio. All my quilting things are packed, can't wait to organize my new space.

We're going to EAA too. We'll go on July 31st & fly home Aug. 1st. Last year was my first time going, and it was a fun time. Did you know they had a quilt block contest last year (they are not holding it this yr.) I have not had my block returned yet, so they might still have last yr.'s blocks on display. They are in the lower level of the Museum. I didn't place, but it was an honor to have it displayed. I was thrilled.

We drive over to Oshkosh and use the week to eat out etc as we don't have much opportunity to do that where we live. I also entered a quilt block a few years back. Haven't done it for a while. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year and not be quite so hot.

Yeaaaaaaaaaa! Congratulations on your retirement. Hope you get to spend as much time quilting as makes you happy. For me, there's NEVER enough hours (or energy) in a day. :o
