I can't say I have more than one UFO or (Hell top) right now, but I do have many projects lined up. I always to one project at a time from start to finish, then start the next.

I finish most of my quilts as soon as I have time because they are usually for gifts. I know that my machine quilting is not always perfect but it is made with love and still works great. I just enjoy seeing them come together and feel the accomplishment of a finished project.

I have the same problem, I have many tops on the verge of completing into a quilt,out of sight! I have the warm and natural for most on hand. Why aren't they finished? I don't know but it seems that I get to a certain point and I lose interest. Can't wait till I get to the next one.
I am trying to get into the habit of finishing what I start by making small things. Also I would like to learn QAYG. I have four row by rows, all the rows finished just waiting to be quilted. I think I will just finish one by the QAYG method. One row at a time shouldn't be difficult. Sorry to ramble on but you have touched a nerve with this subject. I couldn't resist venting. Phyllis |

Hi, I really cannot afford to have my quilt finished professionally and have always quilted by hand to finish a gift. Now I machine quilt very simply and hope the love in the pieceing is enough to show how I care. love Letty.

I love being able to shop from my "flimsy" store. When I need a gift, it is only the quilting/binding left to do. |

I know here in Australia sending it out to be professionally quilted is expensive.( A friend pays upwards of $200.00 to have hers done.) I can understand if the quilt is to go into a show but when they are made with love for family,friends or whoever why not finish them and give them to people to use? I'm not sure how many quilts I've made (somewhere near 100) but I machine quilt them all. They don't have to be fancy, straight stitching or a fancy stitch from our machines works well. This is not a judgment just wondering why so many quilts that are lovingly made languish on a shelf or in a cupboard when someone could be enjoying them. I think so many hesitate to finish is because they can be so hard to manipulate thru the machine because of the small neck. I know that was my problem for a long time. |
To be honest, I HATE moving around big pieces of fabric. Guess I'm a piecer at heart. I will "quilt" smaller quilts and projects, but the biggies overwhelm me! When it isn't fun, I go for help!
