I know my machine is well over 100 years old and still sews beautifully but the whole image thing is the pits! Maybe if I just blur my eyes a bit more when I look at her I'll feel better. lol |
I would keep the "Old Singer" it will sew long after all the new plastic wonders are dead. If the Singer makes a great stitch KeepIt!!!!

You are overlooking something important--it sews beautiful. I have had three top of the line vikings in the past 17 years and nothing sews like my 20+ year old new home DX2022. The sewing head on my latest quilt designer from viking is gone and I am not having it fixed. I am now using my Dx2022 and I am quite happy.

I have my grandmothers black singer sewing machine with all the pretty painted flowers on it. It is over 100 yrs old. It sews beautifully I made all my childrens clothes on it before I bought my bernina. I wouldn't trade the singer for anything, sews even better than the bernina.

As long as it still works good don't worry about how it looks. I find that some of the newer sewing machines cannot compare to the old ones. The older ones were made to last. Enjoy it!

Do not worry about what others have but be thankful for what the Lord has blessed you with. I have only one machine and wish I had a long arm like some others but I just go with what I have and am thankful for being able to do as much as I do.

THE WAY IT SEWS IS THE IMPORTANT PART...NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. I HAVE A MACHINE THAT COST $5000.00 DOLLARS AND IT DOES NOT HAVE A NICE STRAIGHT STITCH. MY $25.00 DOLLAR ONE WAS BETTER. WHO CARES HOW OLD OR WHAT IT COST... HOW NICE IT SEWS IS ALL YOU CARE ABOUT.

Don't you wish you knew about the first lady who got htis machine and imagine how excited she must have been to start sewing, planning her first project. I can just almost see the huge smile on her face. Oh the stories this sweet machine holds. Lucky you. Ya, car polish will be good for her and some oiling and she is ready to stitch, and make you happy. :lol: :thumbup: Jan
