Heres a youtube video that shows how to do it but it is on larger hexagons. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CQG0V42O0fI

Both of these are beautiful. Haven't tried one but someday I may. It will have to be done by machine as my hands won't allow me to do it by hand.

There are different ways to do GFG. Try them all to see what works for you. I do EPP. Quilting my 3rd quilt now. I do enjoy hand work, so EPP works well for me. I have not tried doing them on the machine, but some people have very good results with that method. Then there is the QAYG method that someone on this board did a great tute for it. Just not my thing. I have seen tutes where they do half hexies and sew them in rows. Looks quick, but I don't care for the seam down the center of the hexie. I print my hexies on scrap paper from a computer site, and cut them out with paper scissors'. Mindless work while watching TV etc. Just a word of warning. Hexies are addicting. Hope you enjoy!

I am working on a paper pieced GFG. It is a nice portable project and the 1" paper hexies ensure perfect hexie points. I keep my GFG by the TV as a hand project or one I can take in the car easily. I plan to make it a queen size and hand quilt it- whenever I get the top done.

Thanks. I am saving it, although I'd likely lose my place in the sequence pretty fast. And with bias edges, too - ok, then. :)

You can't cut them in half, you need to cut them in half plus the seam allowance!I've seen this done with larger hexagons, but not the tiny ones. Lots of additional seams.

Here is mine..I have posted it here before ..EPP....I baser just the fabric...not through the paper...so it is easy to remove paper AND so the seams at the back stay nice and flat for quilting...
it is quilted on the lon gram by me...flower designs in the flowers done to show a diagonal design on the back and the rest is pebbled...
