Bella, if everyone followed this we would ALL be healthier and a much thinner society!!
I agree with everyone on changing docs too.
Life is too short to be in pain all the time.

My dr tried lots of different drugs for pain including opium and methadone-let me just say all they do is put you in a dizzy stupor and you still feel the pain anyway. We tried at least 10 different drugs-none really worked except tramadol. But I can only take it for a few days and stop for a few days, etc due to stomach pain.

mzsooz, I know what you mean, Girlfriend! This morning when I woke up first thing I noticed is that both hands are swollen. "Why?" I thought. Oh, yeah, I had a great time last night working on quilted placemats for Christmas presents. Off to take Tylenol now -- it's the only thing my doctor advises me to use for my arthritis.

Sorry you are hurting today. Feel better and take time to look at that beautiful project in process. It will speed the healing process.

I can sympathize. I have fibro too. :-( Pain is getting worse as the season changes. It always gets worse with the season change. No insurance and can't afford to go from one doctor to the next trying to find one that will help.

Thank goodness for sewing buddies tho. They help keep you mind off the pain even if you have to suffer more the next day.

I love the name of the table runner, SUGAR COOKIES!!

Sweetie, you need a new doctor!! There are many options for your pain.

I do have a new dr. Just haven't seen her yet about my fibro. I'm sure she will help me out. Right now all my money is going for my DD and DGD's dr appointments.

Your tablerunner sounds really nice!! Sorry to hear about your FIBRO(Ihave it too!) is really bothering you. You definitely need to see your new dr. soon. My meds keep my FIBRO at bay most of the time. AND IT'S NOT ALL IN YOUR HEAD!!!!

Pain meds are not recommended for chronic pain. There are reasons: addiction, tolerance, need to increase doses. It's a fact narcotics only dull the care about pain. They do not 'cure' anything. Multi disciplinary chronic pain centers are the way to go IMNSHO. I am a trained professional in chronic pain. HIH

I was part of a fibromyalgia study here at the University and they taught us all kinds of pain management strategies. I use them but they only help with mild pain. That "over a 10" pain does not respond to it. If I could get a dr to prescribe me 2 lortabs per month I could survive quite well. I made my last 30 day supply of lortabs (that I received for toe surgery) last over a year. I'm sure not worried about becoming an addict!

My husband was kind enough to take my daughter to school today and pick her up so I could stay in bed. I slept until 10:30 and then the dang phone rang with a stupid survey and I couldn't go back to sleep. But apparently it was enough. I feel worlds better today. Sleep is the best cure for fibro pain for me and it is the one thing I have trouble getting enough of.

I hope I get to quilt tomorrow!

Thanks for everyone's kind words!
