I agree here. Our Guild's "opportunity quilt" tickets are $1 each but the quilt is the only prize. We sold 10,000 tickets for our 2011 quilt and are anticipating the same for our 2013 quilt.

Yes, I would pay $5 for a raffle ticket, but it would depend on whether I really liked the quilt being raffled and what the money was being raised for. I wouldn't hesitate if the money raised would be used to help charities, especially for kids.

Our Guild sells raffle tickets $1 each.

No, sorry but I wouldn't. I would definitely buy one ticket at $1.00 each for the raffle quilt even if I didn't like it. I always do when I go to a show just to support the guilds. However, as far as other items are concerned, I would only buy a ticket for an item I would like to own which would probably not be everything offered. Hope that helps.

One of the guild members offered up this idea of charging 5 dollars for a ticket which would give you 5 chances at some prize; the grand prize would be the large raffle quilt. And if it is anything like our last raffle quilt and if I could have afforded it, I would have boughting every raffle ticket. I joined the guild after the creation of this master piece and I was a little disappointed when my name wasn't drawn. I wanted that quilt. Anyways, Thus giving you a chance to win something for every dollar spent. Also, she wants to limit the total number of tickets to 2000, thus increasing your odds of winning. At this point in time we don't know what the other four prizes would be, but they would be in the line of quilting. For example, a new sewing machine, a quilted lap quilt, ect.

$5 for FIVE chances I would pay the five bucks.. However I would not pay $5 for one draw

i like the idea of having 4-5 different items to chose from so If I bought a $5 ticket that allows me 5 chances and I didn't want the quilt but I wanted the Sewing machine id toss all my tickets to the SM ticket box..

The idea of $1 tickets MINIMUM purchase of 5 tickets might be steep to some but I would pay that..

In our guild, raffle tickets go 6 for $5 or $1 each.

That is what our guild charges, also.

With the quilts we've done in the past, this is what we've sold them for.

I would think twice about a $5.00 raffle ticket....and most likely not purchase. Even though $5.00 really is not that much $$ it far enough off the normal raffle tickets ( $1.00 or $2.00) that it would make me pause. The idea of other prizes .. not a big deal for me , as most likely I already have what the other prizes are such as a sewing machine. Now if the other prizes were gift certificates( for a good amount) for a LQS ... I could be swayed to a $5.00 ticket.

This is the accepted price in our area, too.

In all the raffles I've been involved in they were always $1 each or 6 for $5. That way people usually did pay the $5.00 because they knew they were getting 6 chances to win. In fact, usually people would pay $10 for 12 tickets. It really does work better that way.
