I always use double strands for binding & small stitches.

I usually use single thread, but hand quilting thread. And make very very small stitches. I don't do machine binding, so all my bindings are done by hand.

I use single thread with a smaller stitch length on small quilts that will. hopefully, become 'much loved'.

'In the old days', one did not use a double thread because (they told us) the two threads would rub and wear faster than the single. I am not sure it makes sense, but older thread was all cotton and maybe rougher.

Double thread here sometimes Quilting or not about a 1/4 , like the idea of a double stitch every once in a while, thanks for the tip!

Double thread, small stitches and every few stitches I sort of go through again and loop knot it without cutting then continue...you cant see it,just makes it stronger

I would use double thread. small blind stitch
